(05/25/21) After the celebrations for International Nurses Day, throughout the month of May there are still many occasions to pay tribute not only to nurses, but also to all healthcare personnel.

Yesterday took place at the Hospital La Paz a day of nursing staff, dedicated to give visibility to the care. Held in streaming from the general hospital and complying with all Covid protocols, it was attended by Esther Rey, director of Nursing, Javier Cobas deputy managing director of the Hospital and Lourdes Martinez care manager of the Madrid health service (Sermas).

The event was also accompanied by a very special exhibition entitled "A gray year in full color". Thanks to the sponsorship of Curar es Salvar, a brand specializing in accessories for healthcare professionals, the walls of the Hospital La Paz have been dressed in color since yesterday with the work donated by Ana Gil Piqueras. This illustrator spent much of the pandemic portraying health workers who were on the front line of battle, something that began almost by chance and has become, not only a very important part of her work, but part of it. Behind the protagonists of the illustrations are reflected great moments that will undoubtedly go down in history.

The artist highlights "They thanked me for my work, but the one who is grateful is me, not only because they have helped me to get ahead economically during the pandemic, but because they shared with me a little piece of them and I think it is something so beautiful that we have to show it and above all, it deserves a tribute".

To close the day, Juan Antonio Simarro and Rocío Caamaño performed for the audience their "Vals para ti" (Waltz for you), a piece created as a tribute to nursing.
