Madrid, March 31, 2022-The theater, film and television composer Juan Antonio Simarro and the Galician singer Rocío Caamaño will present next April 13 at the inaugural event of the Second Edition of "El Camino Creativo - XACOBEO21.22. Emprende!" in the Ribeira Sacra their new song Meu Camiño, a composition about the Camino de Santiago and, in short, about the road we travel throughout our lives.

The event, promoted by Creative Spain and the Network of Creative Cities and Territories of Spain (RECITCREA), will be divided into two parts, with music being the protagonist of both. In the first part, the invited authorities, including the President of the Diputación de Lugo, José Tomé and the Secretary General of Culture, Anxo Lorenzo will attend on board a catamaran -which will travel through the Ribeira Sacra- the presentation of El Camino Creativo where the song Meu Camiño will be premiered. Juan Antonio Simarro at the piano will be accompanied by the voice of the Galician singer and composer Rocío Caamaño, the bagpipes of Javier Franco and Christian Castrelo and by the arcodeon player Fernando Fraga.

This will be followed by a concert open to the public in the Church of Cadeiras (Sober). In it, Simarro, accompanied by 6 other musicians, will perform among other pieces his famous 'Symphonyfor a better world', in a global context that bets for peace and respect for nature, as key strategies to achieve sustainable development.

Meu Camiño and the road of life

Juan Antonio Simarro found the inspiration to compose the melody after overcoming the Covid-19, which gives the song a more special meaning expressed in its lyrics that combine the Galician and Spanish languages.

"Overcoming the coronavirus made me reflect and see life in a different way. That's how I got the inspiration to compose 'Meu Camiño', which talks about the Camino de Santiago, an experience with which also by doing it, and especially at the end of it, we started a new way of seeing life," explains Simarro. " We think it is a great opportunity to present it in El Camino Creativo, which promotes creativity, innovation and talent in our country," he adds.

Due to its symphonic, melodic character and with Galician airs in the 21st century, this version created by Rocío Caamaño and Juan Antonio Simarro could become the official soundtrack of Xacobeo 2021-2022.

This is not the first time the artists have combined their talents. In 2021 they already composed together the lyrics of "Waltz for you", a song in appreciation of the great work done by healthcare personnel.
